An Idaho-grown family enterprise, Skyline is owned and operated by two generations of the Ted Johnson family. Their philosophy is simple: Build great neighborhoods and great communities. Since 1967, the Johnson family has developed numerous Treasure Valley neighborhoods totaling over 5,000 home sites. About 15,000 people valley-wide live in Skyline neighborhoods. This extensive experience has given them a deep understanding of both the challenges and rewards that growth presents to the Treasure Valley. Skyline is committed to helping the valley meet its significant future demand for housing in an environmentally conscious manner. Ted Johnson, a former judge, and his wife, Janice, started Skyline in Boise in 1967 when they bought and developed property next to their home. The start-up corporation was truly a family business from the very beginning. All eleven Johnson children recall weekend family projects of sculpting and landscaping berms and creating entrances into those first developments. Since starting the business in 1967, two of Ted’s sons have joined him: Tucker in 1992 and Sam in 1998. Over the past 38 years, the Johnsons have developed a longstanding reputation of being honest, providing a good product, and demonstrating a caring concern for the Treasure Valley.
