The
secret is out: Ada County is one of the most desirable places in the
country
to live and work. In fact, in April 2005, Inc. Magazine rated the Boise
area second on their list of “Best Cities to Do Business in
America.” The following month, Forbes Magazine ranked the Boise metro area first
– nationwide – for business and careers. Among the most attractive
characteristics of the area, the magazines cited the region’s
ability to provide good-quality housing at a price attainable to average
families. Continuing to provide quality, affordable housing – in an environmentally
conscious manner – will help ensure the area’s future vitality
and economic strength. Based on projections from the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS), Ada County’s population will increase from 361,000 in 2005 to 561,000 by 2030. In addition to answering the Treasure Valley’s growing housing needs, The Cliffs will be largely self-contained with its own wastewater treatment system, drinking water supplied by United Water, an elementary school, and a new developer-funded fire station. Residents will also have convenient access to eateries, retail shops, and other onsite services.
